Mark Rowland is an Australian writer based in Europe creating stories with an element of the fantastic: Dark characters, bizarre circumstances and twisting realities that enthral the audience. Through his stories, he explores themes of obsessive control and social expectations through characters with strict, self-imposed codes who just want to do the "right thing"... whatever that entails.

Though suspense is his specialty, Mark is also enamoured with fantasy and animation. He crafts big concepts and even bigger worlds, observing the parallels they draw with reality. Anime in particular is a persistent source of inspiration.
